Aim
The objective of this course is to give fundamental knowledge
about real estate formation in Sweden.
Learning outcomes
Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must
- Command the rules of real property formation.
- Be familiar with fundamental concepts of establishing, managing
and reconsideration of joint facilities.
- Be familiar with fundamental concepts of utility
easements.
- Understand the authorities role in real property
formation.
- Be familiar with adjacent legislation of importance to real
property formation.
Competences and skills
For a passing grade the student must
- be able to use the different methods for real property
formation
- be able to present a property formation order
Judgement and approach
For a passing grade the student must
- understand the legal and economic meaning of the concept of
property, and how the need of stability and flexibility ought to be
coordinated.
Contents
The course covers five main areas:
- Voluntary property formation
- Compulsory property formation
- Authoritys role
- Joint property
- Other property law
Different learning forms include:
- Lectures as introductory moments treating the areas not treated
in the course literature and showing how the course is to
progress
- Seminars adressing important issues
- Projects giving training in performing larger tasks
- Assignments giving practical and deeper knowledge in certain
areas
- Course literature giving knowledge as to fundamental concepts,
legislation, regulations and methods;
Examination details
Grading scale: TH - (U,3,4,5) - (Fail, Three, Four, Five)
Assessment: Examination through project works and a final exam. The final mark is the result of both the project and the exam. Seminars, exercises and study trips are compulsory.
Compulsory joint workshop with A, L and V students in the courses VBEA05, VFTF10 and VBEF01. For an approved workshop, active participation is required throughout the workshop. The workshop is planned and implemented together with program boards A, L and V.
The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.
