In microeconomics, we study how the allocation of scarce resources is solved in a market economy under different institutional set-ups. Particular focus is given to the microeconomic tools such as opportunity cost, equilbrium, and the models for consumers' and producers' choices. In macroeconomics, we study how the economy function on a aggregate level. Particular focus is given to long-run economic growth and business cycle fluctations.
