Aim

The course aims to give the students basic knowledge in project management and project organisation. On a project level the course shall give an understanding of management of projects, formulation of project objectives, planning, executing, monitoring and control, and evaluation.

Contents

The course will mainly be teacher lead lectures, exercises and seminars. This part ends with a concept exam.  In the course an application project will be initiated. The project work is carried in smaller groups. The project work and the course ended with an oral project presentation, written assignment and examination.

In the application project the students need to show that they can apply the project management theories on a concrete project. The focus in this part is to look on the whole rather than the parts of the project. An important part is for the students to show and motivate their suggestions in form of a project management plan.

The students must also submit individual project diaries.

Examination details

Grading scale: TH - (U,3,4,5) - (Fail, Three, Four, Five)
Assessment: Passing mark will be based on graded exams, project assignments, seminars participation and supplementary document. Final grades will be granted only when all assignments, seminars and project work meets the passing grades. The final grade will be based on 50% of project assignment and 50% of written examination.

The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.
