ETIA01, 8 credits, G1 (First Cycle)

Valid for: 2014/15
Decided by: Education Board A
Date of Decision: 2014-04-07

General Information

Main field: Technology.
Compulsory for: D1
Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish

Aim

The student should get an understanding for the basic of circuit theory and analysis, and the to this related electronic components. The student will be able to use this knowledge together with an introduction to the electronic components given in the course to be able to build simpler electronic circuits to interface with embedded systems. The student will also get an insight into embedded systems, and the interaction between software-hardware-interface electronics in such systems.

Contents

The course covers the fundamentals of circuit theory. It covers the basic circuit elements, signals in time and frequency, and transfer functions. This is applied on simple circuits and the basic electronic components. The theoretical knowledge is applied in the laboratory exercises, where here are used in work with the interfaces between a microcontroller and the world.

Examination details

Grading scale: TH
Assessment: Examination consists of laboratory work, lab reports and exams. Two re-exams each year are given, but the other elements are examined only during class, once a year. Grade is the result of the exam.
