Contents

The course comprises different analytical separation techniques and methods, such as HPLC and LC/MS, GC and GC/MS, CE (capillary electrophoresis), CEC (capillary electrochromatography), microfluidics and FFF (field flow fractionation), for characterisation and quantitation of low and high molecular weight substances normally utilized in pharmaceutical, food, environmental, biotechnical and biochemical analysis.

An important part of the course is spent on strategies for sample preparation and optimization of separation and detection conditions. Also the importance of method validation and quality assessment is highlighted.

The second part of the course is spent on planning and performing analysis relevant to industry and/or research. Important concepts regarding project management will be supported through lectures and seminars.
