Upon completing the course the student must be able to show an understanding for how the three parts of this course: Performance, Mass and Balance, and Flight planning affect and interact with each other and a planned flight. The student should, based on the previously mentioned subjects, be able to plan a flight that maintaines the demands for flight safety and flight economy.

The course is divided into three parts: Performance, Mass and Balance, and Flight Planning. These parts can be done in any order.
Grading scale: UG - (U,G) - (Fail, Pass)
Assessment: Participation in compulsory lectures and exercises.
Examinations for each course part are conducted in the form of either internet based or classroom bound Progress Tests. The course ends with a Final Test, at the place of education, for each separate course part. To achieve a passing grade (Godkänd, G) a pass must be achieved in all Progress Tests and a score of at least 75% must be achieved on all Final Tests.
The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.
