Aim

The course aims to provide students with knowledge about classifications related to fire protection and testing methods for different building components. The course also provides students with knowledge about the fire behaviour of building materials and about methods and techniques that can be applied when designing passive fire safety systems. The course is also aimed at increasing the engineering-related ability to construct and analyse models.

Grading scale: TH - (U, 3, 4, 5) - (Fail, Three, Four, Five)
Assessment:

The final grade is based on a written examination (individual work), home assignments (individual work), and laboratory work reports (group work), and requires active participation in compulsory seminars.

The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.

Assessment: Home assignments (individual work), and laboratory work reports (group work), and participation in compulsory seminars is also required The module includes: This part consists of seminars and individual assignments. Students work in groups during laboratory experiments. Further information: Active participation is expected in the group work. Each group member must individually be able to present and be accountable for the group work. If a member does not meet the group's expectations for active participation or neglects their responsibilities, the examiner may decide to reassign them to another group or issue a failing grade.

Further information

In group work, active participation is assumed. Each group member must individually be able to report and answer for the content. If a member does not meet the others' requirements for active participation, or disregards his commitments, a decision by the examiner on relocation to another group or a failing grade can be obtained. Some teaching may be conducted in English.
