Contents

The course is divided into the following modules, which are studied on one's own, supported by two lecture occasions per module, with the help of the web based course material:

1. Work and technology on human terms

2. Psychosocial work environment + The organisation of production and work

3. Physical load + Physical factors + Chemical health risks in working life

4. Human-technology systems + Safety and risk

5. Methods + Design processes

6. Occupational injuries + Work environment and economics + Work environment legislation + Standardisation


The course comprises individual written summaries of all the modules including work on a case which includes documentation and analysis of a work environment, proposals of suggested improvements based on knowledge acquired from the web-based course material and current scientific knowledge. Both the modules and the work on the case will be reported in writing and. Two lectures will be offered before each module, one where we discuss the module together without previous acquisition of knowledge, and a second when the work on the summary has begun, where we together compile the main messages in that module and discuss that which may have been difficult to understand. The course coordinators will be available for additional questions four scheduled hours per week. Additionally, the course will offer the opportunity to visit the different laboratories of Ergonomics and Aerosol technology.

Grading scale: TH - (U, 3, 4, 5) - (Fail, Three, Four, Five)
Assessment:

For a passing grade the student must hand in approved written summaries of all modules in the web based course material, as well as approved work on a case, also including approved feedback on other student’s work (peer-review). The written summaries will be discussed orally in smaller student groups. This will be scheduled towards the end of the course, after the hand-in of the last summary. For an approved course, an approved oral discussion session is required.

The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.
