Valid for: Single courses at LTH spring 2021
Decided by: PLED M
Date of Decision: 2020-02-17
Depth of study relative to the degree requirements: First cycle, has only upper-secondary level entry requirements.
Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish
The aim of the course is to provide both theoretical knowledge about the use of CAD-systems and practice through exercises with a commercial CAD-system.
Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must
Competences and skills
For a passing grade the student must
Judgement and approach
For a passing grade the student must
be able to identify the usability of different computer-based systems. The student must be able to plan and organise work in a CAD-system.
CAD-theory: fundamentals of surface and volume modelling, interfaces and standards, integration of computer-based moments in design, applications.
CAD-applications: practical exercises on a commercial CAD-system.
Grading scale: UV - (U,G,VG) - (Fail, Pass, Pass with Distinction)
Assessment: Computer-based examination. The students should produce a digital assembly of a physical product consisting of several parts. For a passing grade it is required that the assembly and included parts are modelled. For pass with distinction it is required that the models follow the guide-lines for efficient modelling.
The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.
