Aim

The purpose of the course is to in a secure way introduce the students to the possibilities and restrictions in the use of a workshop.

Contents

The course starts with an introduction to the possibilities and restrictions of a workshop, the aim of which is for the student to be able to work more independently in the workshop’s machine park. Further individual training is implemented, particularly regarding turning and milling.

Lectures cover topics like working methods, security regulations, tools and materials.

The principles behind additive manufacturing are introduced and practised. As a preparation for the course IDEA35 “Designers’ tools”, a creative exercise in building a simple sketch model is realized.

Grading scale: UG - (U, G) - (Fail, Pass)
Assessment:

Individual examination in the form of assignments. To pass the course, the student has to receive a passing mark on all assignments.


The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.
