The course is based on a series of seminars, mainly led by experienced lecturers from the industry, on various critical aspects of electronic products. The content of the seminars may vary somewhat over the years, but focuses on topics such as industrialization of product ideas, production adaptation, ethical and sustainable products, supply chains, technology choices, regulations and production methods. In terms of work, the main content of the course is a multifaceted project that concerns the development of an electronic product. Depending on the product or application area, the student needs to take into account, for example, market analysis and capital needs, regulations and authority requirements (certification), patents, production and testing, components such as in-house developed circuits or third-party ones. The student should develop his or her ability to handle these issues independently and in dialogue with the other course participants. The virtual product should be presented to the other course participants and documented in a summary report.
Grading scale: TH - (U, 3, 4, 5) - (Fail, Three, Four, Five)
Assessment: Performance assessment: Based on individual in-depth knowledge of any sub-topic with written report and presentation in seminar form with opposition. Passing grades requires passing all the elements, report, presentation and opposition. The grade represents an equally weighted sum of the three parts.
The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.
