Contents

The course is project-oriented and the main task is to create an architectural proposal that relates to a given urban or landscape context.

The student's ability to document and communicate an own architectural project is trained through workshops, seminars and supervision. The project is compiled in a report that is discussed at the time of the examination.

The project assignment invites a critical examination of architecture and stimulates the development of a personal and experimental way of working, where innovative proposals can be tested.

Great importance is placed on investigating how buildings and places can take into account aspects related to contemporary construction and future challenges in an architectural proposal that adds, renews and changes spatial structures in both a shorter and a longer time perspective.

Supervision takes place continuously and during special submissions, presentations and public briefings, the student is trained to communicate architecture in a structured and insightful way in drawings, words and images. The design task is supported by lectures, exercises, literature studies and seminars.

Tools used, for instance to enhance text quality, generate ideas, or process data, must be documented in the work. It should be clearly indicated how these tools have contributed to the final outcome. Generative AI may not be cited as a source.

Examination details

Grading scale: UG - (U, G) - (Fail, Pass)
Assessment:

For a passing grade, an approved project is required, comprehensively documented in a report, i.e. a compilation of the project in drawings, images, text and model photos. In addition, active participation in scheduled teaching (at least 75% attendance) is required such as lectures, introductions, briefings and seminars, as well as approved opposition of another student's report. The examination will be both oral and written.

The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.
