Boolean algebra. States are important concept for construction of digital systems. Syncronous sequential circuits are introduced as a way to realise the behaviour of the state transition graphs.
Digital components: Decoder, memory, AD- and DA-converters, processors, parallel port, serialport and programmable components.
During the main part of the course the students design, develop, build, debug, and document a system of their own choice. A catalogue of suggested projects is available. At the beginning of the course lectures are given in order to support the project activities. Each group of two gets their own lab desk with all the necessary instruments and tools that they can use throughout the course. During office hours supervisors are available for advice and troubleshooting.
Grading scale: UG - (U,G) - (Fail, Pass)
Assessment: Approved presentation and documentation of project.
Attendance at lectures and laboratory exercises.
The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.
