Aim

The course gives knowledge in how to dimension rolling and sliding bearings.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

• have knowledge of the methods of how to calculate the dimensions of rolling and sliding bearings.

Competences and skills
For a passing grade the student must

• be able to dimension rolling and sliding bearings with the use of theories taught in the course.

Tribology including rolling and sliding bearings

Examination details

Grading scale: TH - (U,3,4,5) - (Fail, Three, Four, Five)
Assessment: Compulsory assignments and written examination.

The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.

Admission

Assumed prior knowledge: FMEA01 Engineering Mechanics - Statics and Particle Dynamics together with FMEA25 Mechanics-Dynamics or FMEA30 Mechanics, and FHL013/FHLF15 Solid Mechanics.
