The purpose of the course is to provide an overall understanding of the area of interaction design with its central concepts, theories and methods. The focus is both on a user-centred design process and concrete design of digital technology. The knowledge is acquired through theoretical and practical elements.
Interaction design competence contributes to a sustainable development of and attitude to the interplay between people and technology in the society.

Concepts, theory, and methods, central for the field of interaction design and the design process are presented.
Central elements of the course include: Interaction design, usability and user experience, HCI (Human-computer interaction), interaction models, design principles, prototyping and prototyping tools, project management.
Grading scale: TH - (U,3,4,5) - (Fail, Three, Four, Five)
Assessment: Group project and an individual assignment in the form of a written home examination. Participation in compulsory activities.
The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.
