Aim

The course aims at connecting practically applied engineering knowledge to the educational program.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

• Be able to describe and analyse the different roles of an engineer
• Understand the role of different actors within the building trade
• Get insight into the application of theoretical knowledge in the building trade

Competences and skills
For a passing grade the student must

• Get insight into the the demands put on engineers within the building trade
• Get insight into how collaboration is done between different areas of knowledge within the building trade
• Get insight into how theoretical knowledge is converted into engineering practice

Judgement and approach
For a passing grade the student must

Actively participate in the work in a construction related workplace

Examination details

Grading scale: UG - (U,G) - (Fail, Pass)
Assessment: Active participation in the course introduction, 4 weeks full-time practice, communication with the course administration, active participation in report seminar, oral presentation and report.

The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.

Admission

The number of participants is limited to: 35
Selection: IBYA 20 attendents Completed university credits within the programme. Priority is given to students enrolled on programmes that include the course in their curriculum.

Further information: The course is held during the first part of the spring semester year three. It is the student's responsibility to arrange the full-time practice. Workplace and supervisor must be approved by the examiner in advance. ID06 cards, if needed, must be provided by the company where the internship is carried out.
