Aim

The aim is to provide students with capability to apply and design interactive products and systems, using principles of interaction design and usability. Interaction design competence contributes to a sustainable development of and attitude to the interplay between people and technology in the society.

Contents

Theory, methods and technology that are central for the field of interaction design and the design process are presented.

Central areas of the course include: Interaction design, project management, usability and user experience, HCI (Human-computer interaction), interaction models, design principles, prototyping and prototyping tools.

Examination details

Grading scale: TH - (U,3,4,5) - (Fail, Three, Four, Five)
Assessment: Group project resulting in a prototype and a project presentation. Individual assignment in the form of a scientific paper. Paper seminar including peer-review feedback. Participate in compulsory activities: project introduction, project presentation, article seminar. The final grade is combined from both the group project and the individual assignment.

The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.

Assumed prior knowledge: MAMA11 Cognitive and Physical Ergonomics, MAMF30 Ergonomics, TEK210/EXTA65 Cognition or similar.
