Theoretical and methodological aspects will be applied to and combined with practical exercises using advanced design methods and creative techniques in order to develop a design solution to the initial problem (i.e. the extreme user situation mentioned above). Students are encouraged to update on relevant research findings.

A workshop on design criteria is integrated within the course to develop a specific product by defining its form language and documenting the result using different evaluation methods.

A seminar, including peer reviews, further improves the proficiency in written communication that will be applied in the design project documentation. Students analyse and examine critically their own and others' reports from the design project B. The experiences from the seminar are put into practice by writing a longer project report on design project C.
