Credits: 4. Grading scale: TH. Optional for: V4. Course coordinator: Assistant lecturer Fredrik Friblick, fredrik.friblick@tlog.lth.se, Teknisk logistik. Assessment: To qualify for a final grade, students must have completed the compulsory project and passed the written examination. Aim
The course gives a process-oriented view and stimulates the creation of effective and efficient material flows in the construction industry. It also gives basic and advanced knowledge regarding handling, transport and system design. Furthermore the course gives skills in identifying problems, analysing material flows and designing logistic systems.

A project, which is part of the course, should provide skills in identifying problems and problem solving. Important is also to provide experience on how to carry out and present a project. It should also stimulate the students into independent and critical thinking.

Contents
Central concepts are total costs, holistic perspecitve, integration and quality.

Areas focused are transport analysis, transports and the construction process, material flows handling and transports at construction sites using different means, total costs, purchasing, quality, JIT, time based management, delivery service, storage and warehousing, packaging, logistics in different branches, external goods transports, route planning, integration, process orientation.

Credits: 2. Grading scale: UG. Assessment: On completion of a compulsory project work. Contents: The students (in groups) should solve a practical problem and write a report.
