Learning outcomes

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

Understand and explain different features of packaging materials.
Evaluate features during different mechanical testing and apply it to a defined supply chain.
Perform standardized methods of packaging material and evaluate the consequences in a supply chain.

Competences and skills
For a passing grade the student must

Understand and evaluate features and performance of packaging material for different products.
Plan, execute and report evaluations of packaging material and its consequenses in  a supply chain.

Judgement and approach
For a passing grade the student must

Critically review and use information in the packaging material science literature, and analyse the consequenses for different actors in the supply chains. Critically and constructively evaluate and give feedback on peer students work.

Contents

Lectures on packaging material given by experts from academia and industry. Standard methods for material  characterization. Written reflections on packaging material and their features. Parallell supply chain project to evalutae packaging material features throughout a supply chain.
