Aim

The overall aim is to give students an opportunity to conduct a specialised design project within a special area of interest.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

• by means of a design project be able to show deepened knowledge within the chosen area of interest.
• have insight in the working procedure in an architectural project.

Competences and skills
For a passing grade the student must

• be able to independently plan, implement and report  a designed project within advanced level.
• be able to independently search, retrieve, and compile relevant information in a well communicated manner.
• be able to systematically integrate and use knowledge within the chosen special area of intereste and exhibit this in a designed or written project.

Judgement and approach
For a passing grade the student must

• be able to critically read, evaluate and make use of conclusions from relevant literature or reference examples within the specific area of interest.

Contents

The course content will be determined in a program of study executed in dialogue with the course responsible teacher.

Examination details

Grading scale: UG - (U,G) - (Fail, Pass)
Assessment: The design project will be reported and examined in accordance with the guiding principles set up by the course responsible teacher.

The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.

Admission

Admission requirements:

• All of the mandatory courses in years 1-3, 165 credits, and one of the elective mandatory courses of 15 credits, AAHF20/AAHF25/AAHF26 or AAHF30. Or a Bachelor degree in Architecture

• The literature is decided specifically for each project in dialogue with the concerned teacher.
