Aim

The course provides the students with understanding and knowledge regarding the components as well as the overall view of the concept "Smart industry (smart manufacturing, industrie 4.0, connceted industry, etc)". The course focuses on automation systems for production and manufacturing (control system architecture, communication, and information handling) and gives, through guest lectures and projects, an understanding of trends, international standards and current issues and challenges for Swedish industry.

Contents

Terminology related to Smart industry. Functional enterprise models. Physical enterprise models. Operation management. RAMI 4.0 and NIST model. Key performance indicators for manufacturing operations. Software systems for automation. International industry standards (e.g. IEC 62264, IEC 61512, and ISO 22400). Referencematerial related to Industrie 4.0.

Grading scale: TH - (U,3,4,5) - (Fail, Three, Four, Five)
Assessment: Written exam and two projects.

The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.
