Aim

The course aims to provide the students with basic knowledge of the Swedish judicial system in the area of environment. Students will not only be able to develop skills in identifying and applying current law rulings but also provide them a broad comprehension of the judicial structure of law that will serve as an important tool for Civil Engineers to solve practical legal problems in business, public service and local governments.

Contents

The aim of this course is to provide the students with basic knowledge of the Swedish legislation on land use, use of natural resources and preservation of the natural environment. The case studies are designed in such a way that students can put into practice existing judicial rulings in relation to the different common interests of the society. Special emphasis is placed on reading and understanding legal texts.

Grading scale: TH - (U,3,4,5) - (Fail, Three, Four, Five)
Assessment: Written examinations are given individually.

The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.
