The human body is studied from a functional point of view. General principles for the organisation and function of organs and tissues are dealt with as well as general physiological control mechanisms.
Grading scale: TH - (U,3,4,5) - (Fail, Three, Four, Five)
Assessment: Written examination. Teaching consists of lectures, supervised group exercises, and laboratory practices. Laboratory practices and the associated teaching are compulsory.
The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.
Required prior knowledge: KOKA30 General, Inorganic and Organic Chemistry and (TEK295 Biology of the Cell or KMB060 Microbiology or KBKA05 Technical Biology).
The number of participants is limited to: 100
Selection: Students enrolled in the Biomedical Engineering Programme or Engineering Nanoscience Programme are guaranteed admission. Other students: Credits awarded or credited within the study programme.
