Aim

The course aims to provide the students with thorough knowledge, both theoretical and practical, about the constructions of the most central internet protocols. In particular, a deeper technical understanding is provided for:

Contents

The course implies deepened studies of IP network technology. The elements of the course are theoretical as well as practical (primarily in the form of lectures and labs).The course assumes basic knowledge of computer communication in general and TCP/IP in particular, where especially different types of transport protocols and routing principles are treated.

Grading scale: TH
Assessment: Approved projects and active participation in online discussions is a requirement for passing the course. Three assessed midterm quizzes gives grade 3 or 4. If grade 4 is achieved by the midterm quizzes grade 5 can be achieved by passing a home assignment which has to be done in the exam period of the course. Re-examination corresponding to the three quizzes will be given as a home-exam which can give grade 3 or 4. If grade 4 is achieved on the home exam grade 5 can be achieved by passing a home assignment which has to be done directly adjacent to the home exam.
