Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish
Aim
The purpose is that the student should understand the interplay
between market forces and law for land use and real estate
values.
Learning outcomes
Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must
- be able to explain central themes within the field of Law &
Economics
- be able to explain the interplay between market forces and the
law
- be able to understand and explain how the formation of property
rights are fundamental to a suistanble society
Competences and skills
For a passing grade the student must
- be able to solve conditional problems by means of methods of
Law & Economics
- be able to analyse real estate law from an economic
perspective
Judgement and approach
For a passing grade the student must
- be able to discuss proposals of changes within the real estate
law
- be able to propose suitable changes to specific areas of real
estate law
Contents
- Law & Economic thory and methd is taught. A substantial
part of the course is assigned to applied studies of certain areas
of Swedish real estate law, such as (but not restricted to):
- the Swdish right of commons (allemansrätt )
- the municipal monoploy of building permits
- takings

Grading scale: TH
Assessment: Written exam plus assignment, some manadatory moments during the course.
