Aim

The course aims to give the students basic knowledge in project management and project organisation. On a project level the course shall give an understanding of management of projects, formulation of project objectives, planning, executing, monitoring and control, and evaluation.

Contents

During the first weeks of the course it will mainly be teacher lead lectures, exercises and seminars. This part ends with a concept exam at the end of week four. During the third week of the course an application project will be initiated. The project work is carried in smaller groups. The project work and the course is ended through a written and oral project exam with student evaluation.

In the application project the students need to show that they can apply the project management theories on a concrete project. The focus in this part is to look on the whole rather than the parts of the project. An important part is for the students to show and motivate their suggestions in form of a project management plan.

The students must also submit individual project diaries.

Examination details

Grading scale: TH
Assessment: To get a passing grade it is necessary with passing grades in the written exam, the project work and individual project diary. The final grade is made up by 50% of the project work and 50% of the written exam.
