Aim

The aim of this course is to develop and train the students in their ability to work in teams and to lead others. Further the purpose is to motivate the students for personal development. This includes a life long learning, continues and contextual learning and a self managed development and learning.

A condition for the course is that the students show a willingness to develop and an active participation in the various parts of the course. The students are expected to take Responsibility for own as well as fellow students learning.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

be able to understand basic phenomena in leadership

be able to understand the need for reflection and self assessment in teamwork and leadership

be able to understand the basic patterns of own behaviour in team work and leadership

Competences and skills
For a passing grade the student must

be able to express and present an increased ability to reflect on own behaviour in teamwork and leadership

be able to express and present an increased willingness and ability to give and take feed back

be able to express and present an increased ability for self managed learning and development

Judgement and approach
For a passing grade the student must

be able to express and present an increased responsibility for own and others need for development and feed back in team work and leadership

Contents

The course is based on action—learning, training and self studies. The basic philosophy is that teamwork and leadership to a very large extent is a tacit knowledge, intuition and abilities rather than explicit, theoretical knowledge.

Examination details

Grading scale: UG
Assessment: The students are evaluated continually during the course partly based on discussions and observations, partly based on written reports and oral presentations based on individual and team work.
