Aim

The course aims at connecting practically applied engineering knowledge to the educational program.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

• Be able to describe and analyse the different roles of an engineer
• Understand the role of different actors within the building trade
• Get insight into the application of theoretical knowledge in the building trade

Competences and skills
For a passing grade the student must

• Get insight into the the demands put on engineers within the building trade
• Get insight into how collaboration is done between different areas of knowledge within the building trade
• Get insight into how theoretical knowledge is converted into engineering practice

Judgement and approach
For a passing grade the student must

Actively participate in the work in a construction related workplace

Grading scale: UG
Assessment: Active participation in the course introduction and lectures, introductionreport, 4 weeks full-time practice, communication with the course administration, active participation in report seminar, oral presentation and report.

Further information: The course is held twice a year. In summer between year two and three or in spring semester year three. It is the student's responsibility to arrange the full-time practice. Workplace and supervisor must be approved by the examiner in advance.
