General Information

Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish


The aim is for the students to obtain a broad and general knowledge in the field of fire safety engineering and risk management, such areas as fire theory, fire extinguisher, fire safety and risk analysis. The course also aims to introduce fire engineer's role in society, expecially focusing on the key roles a fire engineer may have. Finally, the course aims to  provide course attendance basic knowledge in oral and written communication skills and prepare them for further university studies.

Examination details

Grading scale: UG
Assessment: The examination takes the form of three assignments (advanced assignments) that have to be presented in writing and/or orally and a laboratory report. All the assignments must be approved for the student to successfully complete the course. In addition, compulsory attendance at all seminars, laboratory sessions, and a practicum day at the MSB school in Revinge is required.

Further information: Group assignments require active participation. Each group member must individually be able to account for the content of the assignment. If a group member does not fulfill the demands of the group or ignores hers/his commitment, she/he can be reassigned to another group or get a fail result.
