OFDM is one of the main techniques in modern telecommunications used in numerous systems (WLAN, xDSL, DVB, DAB, DRM, beyond-3G mobile communication, etc.). This course presents the basics of multicarrier communciations and introduces some important systems based on OFDM. Along the way, important principles of advanced communications techniques are introduced and illustrated.

The course provides fundamental knowledge about modern algorithms for high data rate communications systems with a strong focus on multicarrier systems. The topics covered by the course are:
The primary tool for calculations during exercises and labs is MATLAB.

Assessment: Alternatively to a written exam (5 hours), a home exam may be scheduled. Successful completion of lab and homework is a prerequisite for taking the exam.
Required prior knowledge: ETT051 Digital Communication.
