The purpose of the course is to understand the principles and have knowledge about ray tracing based algorithms for photorealistic rendering of images.

Global illumination algorithms, ray tracing, acceleration data structures, intersection testing, advanced lighting and shading, super sampling, Monte Carlo strategies, image-based rendering.

Assessment: Written examination and completed course assignments. To qualify for the written examination students must have completed the assignments. The final grade of the course is based on the result of the written examination.
