Aim
The objective of the course is to further and expand knowledge
from previous courses, for example, within real estate law, spatial
planning, physical planning and geomatics as well as give the
students an increased ability to use this knowledge with changes in
real property formation, the Cadastral procedure
Learning outcomes
Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must
Be able to:
- Explain concepts, legislation, regulations and methods
connected to changes in real property formation; and
- Assess the needs that can be met through changes in real
property formation.
Competences and skills
For a passing grade the student must
Be able to:
- Choose suitable measures with changes in real property
formation;
- Conduct the procedure as to changing real property formation
(real property formation procedure);
- Determine that which affects and is decisive when deciding real
estate property formation matters; and
- Independently describe, discuss and document situations and
procedures with respect to real estate property formation.
Judgement and approach
For a passing grade the student must
Be able to:
- choose between different types of real property actions and
understand the relationship between them
- understand the importance of real property formation to the
society
- understand the need for legal and ethical rules and standards
that are the foundation of our society and governing the use of
land and property
Contents
The content of the course includes:
- The regulations, methods and practice for real property
formation;
- Application of the real property formation act, the joint
facilities act and the utility easements act as well as other
legislation that affects changes in land use and real property
formation;
- The different stages and interplay between land owners,
governmental authorities and other actors in a procedure concerning
real property formation;
- The mandatory rules that exist in the legislation;
- The result of a decision governing real property formation as
well as its registration in the land register;
- Recent and future developments within real property
formation;
- Planning and implementation of decisions governing real
property formation as well as negotiation and meeting techniques;
and
- A project that illustrates the treatment of a complicated real
estate formation matter.
Examination details
Grading scale: TH
Assessment: Participation in project works and a final examination.

Admission requirements:
- VFTF10 Real Property Formation
Required prior knowledge: VFTF05 Real Estate Appraisal.

The course might be cancelled: If the number of applicants is less than 15.
