Aim

The course aims at connecting practically applied engineering knowledge to the educational program.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

Be able to describe and analyse the different roles of an engineer

Understand the role of different actors within the building trade

Get insight into the application of theoretical knowledge in the building trade

Competences and skills
For a passing grade the student must

Get insight into the the demands put on engineers within the building trade

Get insight into how collaboration is done between different areas of knowledge within the building trade

Get insight into how theoretical knowledge is converted into engineering practice

Judgement and approach
For a passing grade the student must

Actively participate in the work in a construction related workplace

Assessment: Active participation in the course introduction and lectures, 4 weeks full-time practice, communication with the course administration, active participation in report seminar, oral presentation and report.

Further information: The course is held twice a year. In summer between year two and three or in spring semester year three. It is the student's responsibility to arrange the full-time practice. Workplace and supervisor must be approved by the examiner in advance.
