Aim

Electromechanic actuators are getting increasingly more common in industry products and productions systems. Skills in the design and integration of such are thus important. The purpose of this course is to provide such skills.

Contents

Lectures: Windings, current density, torque production and losses. Optimisation, torque quality, reluctance net models, FEM analysis.
Project: Design of an electrical machine with the use of a FEM design programme.

Assessment: Approved design report grants the grade 3. For higher grade a written exam is required.
