Computer Engineering Overview

Aim

To give an overview and introduction to various courses contained in the program.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

• be able to design simple electronic circuits

Competences and skills
For a passing grade the student must

• be able to acquire and structure information and present it orally

Contents

The sectional course Introduction contains:

• A brief introduction to the various courses contained in the program
• A brief introduction to entrepreneurship
• Guest lectures given by representatives from the industry
• Seminars in study techniques and career counseling

The sectional course on Computer Technology will provide an overview on computer construction and insight into how it functions. The computer’s ‘building blocks’ are presented, hardware as well as software. The areas treated are:

• Basic terms: Computer, programme and system
• Basic principles. Computer construction.

The sectional course on Presentation Technique is comprised of the following:

• Interpersonal communication in Swedish
• Information retrieval
• Oral proficiencys.

Examination details

Grading scale: UG
Assessment: Examination is based on laboratory exercises and an oral presentation. A student must attend not less than eighty per cent of all scheduled activities.
