Aim
- to learn about colour theories and exercise the ability to read
colour in reality.
- to broaden knowledge about visual communications as well as the
meaning of the senses regarding creation of form.
- clearly elaborate art’s culture and the aesthetic point of
view in technique, colour and composition.
- to practice sketching, drawing, painting, and modelling, in
order to use these and other expressions in the reflection about
objects in relation to space.
- to practice reflection on the material culture of
societies.
Learning outcomes
Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must
- with the help of guidance be able to make analyses of colour
and materials in relation to practice.
- analyse their observations of colour and material effects in
space in a critical way as well as visually communicate them.
- demonstrate different representation techniques,
methods and materials for creative use of form and colours.
Competences and skills
For a passing grade the student must
- be able to create colour and spatial contexts using visual
methods.
Contents
- Exercises in 3-dimensional composition and graphic
performance.
- Use of different methods in image creation of space and
object.
- Experimental exercises about the relationship between humans,
space and materials.
The course is given as four exercises. Each exercise starts with
a lecture introducing the subject and ends with a discussion.

Grading scale: UG
Assessment: Approved exercises. 80% attendance is demanded at lectures and exercises.
