SOUND IN BUILDING AND ENVIRONMENTVTAF01
Credits: 7,5. Grading scale: TH. Cycle: G2 (First Cycle). Main field: Technology. Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish. VTAF01 overlaps following cours/es: VTA070. Recommended prerequisits: FMAA05 Calculus on One Dimension and FMA430 Calculus in Several Dimensions. Assessment: Written exam, project task that is presented orally and written, and written laboration reports. The course is graded according to the result on the project task and the written exam. Aim
The aim of the course is to give the students knowledge in the foundations of sound and its effect on human, applied to problems with noise in buildings and environment.

Contents
The course begins with an introduction to acoustics and an exposition of different aspects of sound:

After that follows an exposition of noise from traffic.

Then the more advanced sections of buildning acoustics.

The course also contains a section on measurement methodologics in acoustics, which is treated in two laborations.

The course is also containing one of three following alternative project tasks consisting on a field measurement with a modellation that is to be presented in a written report, and by an oral presentation.
