Aim
The aim with the course is to provide students with the necessary knowlegde and skills required to analyze issues and problems in economics and business administration. The course also provides students with skills necessary for subsequent studies.

Contents
In economics, we study incentives behind and the results of individuals' choices in the society. In microeconomics, we study how the allocation of scarce resources is solved in a market economy under different institutional set-ups. Particular focus is given to the microeconomic tools such as opportunity cost, equilbrium, and the models for consumers' and producers' choices. In macroeconomics, we study how the economy function on a aggregate level. Particular focus is given to long-run economic growth and business cycle fluctations.

In business administration, we study firms' goals, conditions under which they operate, and tools. The main focus is on external accounting and business account analysis.
