INTERNATIONAL REAL ESTATE LAWVFR071
Credits: 7,5. Grading scale: TH. Cycle: A (Second Cycle). Main field: Technology. Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish. Optional for: L4fr. Course coordinator: Klas Ernald Borges, klas.ernald.borges@lantm.lth.se, Real Estate Science. Prerequisites: VFTF10 Real Estate Formation. The course might be cancelled if the number of applicants is less than 15. Assessment: Indivdual examination at the end of the course. Participation in the exercise classes is compulsory. Aim
The objective of the course is to provide an understanding of the legal and societal cultures concerning real estate in other countries as well as give a comparative perspective as to the Swedish real estate system. The course also provides an important basis of knowledge for those persons who will be working internationally with real estate issues.

Be able to apply legal regulations existing within different systems as to fundamental real estate law and real estate planning problems. Those students who have completed the course should be able to compare and evaluate different solutions available when forming a new system in developing and transitional countries.

Contents
The course is presented as a series of lectures and seminars with the individual student contributing with independent investigative work.

The following issues are focussed:

Real estate law in developing and transitional countries that previously have had a socialistic system will also be addressed.
