Credits: 7,5. Grading scale: TH. Cycle: A (Second Cycle). Main field: Technology. Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish. Optional for: V5bf. Course coordinator: Kristian Widén, kristian.widen@construction.lthse, Construction Management. Prerequisites: V: VBEF15 Technique for Construction Management, VBEF10 Real Estate Management. L: VBEF10 Real Estate Management. A: VBEA05 Construction Process. Recommended prerequisits: VBEF01 Project Management. The course might be cancelled if the number of applicants is less than 16. The number of participants is limited to 25 Selection criteria: Number of course members (max/min) 25/10. Selection of course members is based on the numberts of academic marks within the respective education progrmme. Decision by drawing of lots in case of equal number of marks. A minimum of 10 participants is a requirement for the accomplishment of the course. Assessment: Examination will be based upon group work. Oral presentation and written report of project documentation which comprises of project planning, inquiries basis and final report, and also individual project diary. Final report is of opinion based examination. A procurement protocol drawn from negotiation with an entrepreneur. Aim
The subject aims to expose students to the overall picture of construction process and the link between different parties and give added knowledge on the role of a project manager. Students undertaking this subject will be able to develop their personality and attitude towards construction management and gain confidence in their competencies.

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

Interpret matters pertaining to contract handling and perform detail examination.

Skills and abilities
For a passing grade the student must

Organize, manage, lead and plan a normal construction project.

Perform production calculation in different stages and carry out appraisals for uncertain factors.

Evaluate normal construction project economic conditions.

Judgement and approach
For a passing grade the student must

Negotiate with the entrepreneur and establish a purchasing protocol.

Accumulate relevant facts and data to aid report writing or reporting orally.

Asses which public authorities contact must be established in a given situation.

Contents
This subject will train students on the practical aspects of managing a project based on project charter, planning and project information. Students will also learn how to instill close working collaboration between the clients, the entrepreneurs, the public authorities and all parties involved.
