Credits: 7,5. Grading scale: TH. Cycle: A (Second Cycle). Main field: Technology. Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish. MAMN05 overlaps following cours/es: MAM026 and MAMF15. Prerequisites: MIO022 Management Organization. Assessment: For a passing grade the student must actively participate in the obligatory portions as well as receive a passing grade on a project and on a written test. Aim
For a passing grade the student must actively participate in the obligatory portions as well as receive a passing grade on a project and on a written test.

Knowledge and understanding
For a passing grade the student must

• Define and discuss basic concepts about structure, distribution and organisation of work.

• Explain the design of work and production systems and the relation to work satisfaction and productivity.

Skills and abilities
For a passing grade the student must

Design a set-up for improvements activities in existing as well as future production systems.

Visualize and present a specific subject within the field of work organisation.

Judgement and approach
For a passing grade the student must

Suggest and motivate changes in an existing work organisation using basic concepts and principles within the field of work organisation.

Contents
The course starts with an historic review and explanations of fundamental theories and explanation models, followed by a written test. The students are organized in teams and summarize relevant work organisation areas in articles and posters and present these in seminars. Cases will be analyzed in cooperation with industrial representatives. Researchers will interact with students and explain trends in work organisation theory and practice. Key words of the course: work organisation, management, participation, changes and improvements, innovation, organisational psychology, work organisation and productivity, stress and workload in working life, examples from industry, latest research.
