Contents
The course is built around a number of themes each consisting of different parts such as lectures, exercises, discussions in groups and compulsory calculation tasks. Seminars with external people from the process industry and energy companies.

Raw materials for energy supply and the Swedish energy system. Different methods for electricity production (hydropower, nuclear power, back-pressure power, gasturbines, gasification, wind power etc) and their environmental impact and costs. Different alternatives for flue gas cleaning at municipal and industrial combustion plants. Methods for energy optimization in the process industry as well as environmental challenges. Aspects on the use of renewable energy sources within the transportation sector and catalytic processes for exhaust gas control.
