Aim
To give deep knowledge and skills in the chosen scientific area. The project must be on advanced level with a clear connection to research. The project should be performed independently, preferably with two students together. Optionally, the project can be chosen in connection to the thesis work.

For a passing grade the student must

Have a good understanding in how to carry on a research project

Have an insight in how a research group is working

Skills and abilities
For a passing grade the student must

Independently search for, process, and put together relevant information

Be able to integrate the knowledge gained in the educational program.

Judgement and approach
For a passing grade the student must

In a research group, be able to carry out a research/development project

Be able to review, judge, and summarize scientific literature

Contents

• independent litteratur studies throug databases and libraries.

• independent work in close connection to ongoing research and development work.

• written report in English as well as oral presentation of the work at an officially anounced seminar.

Scientific original papers or other literature that is relevant for the chosen work.
