Credits: 7,5. Grading scale: TH. Cycle: A (Second Cycle). Main field: Technology. Language of instruction: The course will be given in English. Optional for: C4, C4ks, D4, E4, E4ks, MSOC1, MWIR1. Course coordinator: Dr Thomas Magesacher, thomas.magesacher@eit.lth.se, Electrical and Information Technology. Prerequisites: ESS040 Systems and signals or ETT080 Signals and Communication. Recommended prerequisits: ETT051 Digital Communication. Assessment: Alternatively to a written exam (5 hours), a home exam may be scheduled. Aim
OFDM is one of the main techniques in modern telecommunications used in numerous systems (WLAN, xDSL, DVB, DAB, DRM, beyond-3G mobile communication, etc.). This course presents the basics of multicarrier communciations and introduces some important systems based on OFDM. Along the way, important principles of advanced communications techniques are introduced and illustrated.

The course provides fundamental knowledge about modern algorithms for high data rate communications systems with a strong focus on multicarrier systems. The topics covered by the course are:
