Especially emphasis is put on reflection on a societal consequence analysis of the transition to new technology. An active and critical mind is stimulated to reflect over benefits and draw backs when introducing new technology, where aspects on sustainable engineering are central. The process of bringing new technology to the market is highlighted, where issues such as patent and IPR, entrepreneurship, project management and quality control systems are emphasised. The multifaceted role as professional engineer will be illustrated in an introductory lecture by a physics engineer who has worked in official adminstration as well as in start-up companies and global industry. The lecture topics will interlace between entrepreneurship and and environmental and sutainable aspects, wtíth an emphasis on business development during LP 1 and with an increased focus on environment and sustainable development during LP 2.

During the entire course the students will work independently in a project theme, which has an environmental core but also describes a relation to technology development, where an entrepreneurial/business aspect also is included.

During LP 1 the students outline a series of debate topics linked to the overall theme of the course, which are prepared for a live practice and debated in small groups during LP 2

During LP 1 the students develop and write a business plan on a business idea they have selected them selves.
