CONTEMPORARY DESIGN PROCESS IN ARCHITECTUREAFON10
Credits: 7,5. Grading scale: UG. Cycle: A (Second Cycle). Main field: Architecture. Language of instruction: The course will be given in English on demand. AFON10 overlaps following cours/es: AFO125. Optional for: A4. Course coordinator: Professor Christer Malmström,, christer.malmstrom@arkitektur.lth.se, and arkitekt John Cramer, john.cramer@arkitektur.lth.se, Architecture. Prerequisites: At least three years approved full time education at university level (or a Bachelor degree) in architecture, or equivalent. The course might be cancelled if the number of applicants is less than 10. Assessment: Approved assignments and at least 80% attendance in lectures and classwork, at seminars and during participants’ presentation of their results.

Aim
The course aims to provide a deeper insight and understanding of the development of contemporary architecture, and to create an open and critical approach to contemporary design processes and design theories in the field of architecture.

Contents
Through literature and case studies of architecture and design processes, discussions and issues that are relevant to today's architects and contemporary architecture, are examined in the course. The concrete cases are related to contemporary design theory and architecture-related philosophy.

Literature
Each participant will be provided a list of literature appropriate to the investigation he/she is to carry out, together with a list including literature of relevance to all of the participants.
