The course is run on distance over the Internet. Its main activity for the student is to do and deliver twelve different exercises. They are evaluated and commented by the course coordinator. The include making a computer model of a two stories building and:

- Administration of the model concerning standard element library objects, libraries, layers etc.

- Visualisation of the building with images and animations generated from the model.

- Generating traditional main drawings, scale 1:100, of the building from the model.

- Design a presentation of the project on the computer.

Studies of ”State of the Art” of model based design in specific papers, available on the Internet.

The exercises, instructions and information are described and available at the Home Page on the Internet in the Luvit Environment, which was designed at Lund University to be used for distance courses.

Three papers from the CuminCad database, which are chosen at the start of the course to be as recent as possible. CuminCad,, consists of papers which have been presented at the annual conferences of eCAADe, CadFutures, ACADIA, CADRIA och SIGRADI, organisations for Schools of Architecture and Engineering in different parts of the World with interest in CAAD. At the Home Page there are a number of links to interesting sources of information on the use and development of object based computer modelling of the built environment.
