AN OUTLINE OF SCANDINAVIAN ARCHITECTURE AND URBANISM IABFF01
Credits: 7,5. Grading scale: UG. Cycle: G2 (First Cycle). Main field: Architecture. Language of instruction: The course will be given in English. ABFF01 overlaps following cours/es: ABF111. Optional for: A4. Course coordinator: Professor Mats Edström, Mats.Edstrom@byggark.lth.se and Professor Kerstin Barup, Kerstin.Barup@byggark.lth.se, Architecture and Restoration. Prerequisites: Bachelor degree or three years of approved fulltime studies at university level in architecture, landscape architecture, design, urban planning, buildning antiquarian sciences or the equivalent. The course might be cancelled if the number of applicants is less than 10. Assessment: Successfully to complete the course, a student must attend not less than eighty per cent of the lectures and study visits. At the end of the course, each gives in words, drawings and images a final account of a project. Aim
The course aims to give the student an understanding of and a basic knowledge of the form, traditions and development of Scandinavian architecture.

to evaluate and analyze architecture qualities in existing architecture.

Contents
The course focuses on resent Scandinavian architecture and urbanism that is represented by its keyobjects and - architects. Its first part comprises lectures and seminars, together with excursions in Scandinavia; its second part the students’ own studies and the preparation of an exercise on analyzing a significant Scandinavian building.
