INTERNATIONAL REAL ESTATE LAWVFR071
Credits: 7,5. Grading scale: TH. Cycle: A (Second Cycle). Main field: Technology. Language of instruction: The course will be given in Swedish. Optional for: L4fr. Aim
The objective of the course is to provide an understanding of the legal and societal cultures concerning real estate in other countries as well as give a comparative perspective as to the Swedish real estate system. The course also provides an important basis of knowledge for those persons who will be working internationally with real estate issues.

Be able to apply legal regulations existing within different systems as to fundamental real estate law problems, such a mortgaging deeds or the conveyance of ownership. Those students who have completed the course should be able to compare and evaluate different solutions available when forming a new system in developing and transitional countries.

Contents
The course is presented as a series of lectures and seminars with the individual student contributing with independent investigative work. The course primarily focuses on pure private law moments of real estate law, such as:

The Anglo-Saxon legal system will be treated more in depth, however, continental law will also be examined. Real estate law in developing and transitional countries that previously have had a socialistic system will also be addressed.
